In my opinion, Easton Corbin is just what country music needs right now. He’s making traditional country music, something that’s been lacking on today’s country radio playlists, and he’s enjoying success by doing so. Corbin continues to stick to his traditional roots with his latest single, “Roll With It.”
Written by Tony Lane, David Lee, Johnny Earl Park, “Roll With It” is all about wanting to get out of the ordinary and doing something spontaneous. Specifically, the song narrates the story of a couple wanting to get in their truck and drive to a beach to get away from their everyday rut.
The production blends acoustic, electric, and steel guitar to create a song that could’ve been a hit during the traditional movement of the 90’s. At times, a little fiddle is thrown in to keep the upbeat production from becoming repetitive. Meanwhile, Corbin trades his George Strait-esque voice for a more Joe Nichols tone on this song which fits perfectly.
Out of all the songs on his album, this is the perfect song for the summer radio season. Does it have what it takes to become another smash hit? Only time will tell but I’d be surprised if this doesn’t hit top ten.
